Working out of our beautiful Grand Haven building, you will be surrounded by a team of professionals seeking to provide our community with the highest standard of care in their Health and Wellness journey. As an independent contractor, you maintain autonomy but you receive all of the benefits of our management team. We provide the beautiful building, including our relaxation room we call “bliss”, to help provide a warm and welcoming experience for each client. You will also have the flexibility of scheduling at your own location or at the client’s home. We provide scheduling and the benefits of our marketing and business development team to help grow the client base!

We are currently seeking an MA candidate passionate about wellness and holistic alternatives to care. In addition to working with our physicians, this position will also support clients and patients in our Wellness area with foot detox and sauna therapy. Successful candidates are independent thinkers, challenge current paradigms, active problem solvers and have superior customer service.

Our CMA/RMA’s may provide support at both our beautiful facility in Grand Haven or at one of our cherished provider/client offices.

Successful candidates may do the following including but not limited to:

Customer Focus –

    • Develops a working, therapeutic relationship with patients.
    • Effective communication directly with healthcare practitioners.
    • Escort patient to exam room, document chief complaint, record vital signs and other relevant medical history in the patient electronic record.
    • Responsible for performing tests, including but not limited to glucose checks, venipuncture, immunizations, and procedures as authorized by the Provider.
    • Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the Provider.
    • Handling incoming communications from customers and referrers in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
    • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients ensuring room is clean and all needed supplies are available for the provider.
    • Showing not only customer rapport but team camaraderie within PrivaMD. We pride ourselves on not just the relationships that we build with our customers but with our team as well.
    • Perform faxing, phone calls, and clerical tasks based on the need of the Provider and/or customer.
    • Mentor peers and share best practices with those less experienced as needed.
    • Maintain clean, adequately supplied, and safely equipped examination rooms.
    • Maintain inventory
    • Provide customers with a remarkable experience.
    • Promotes and sees the value of different opinions and new ideas.
    • Assists patients in following through with established treatment plans; Identifies and addresses any barriers effecting a patient’s ability to adhere to treatment plan and help coordinate with care team.
    • Improves patient outcomes through the coordination and follow up of care.

Service Delivery –

    • Collaborates with entire care team (Provider, Supervisor, Medical Assistant, social services/care support, registration and health information staff) to assure that the patient receives timely care and follow-up.
    • Collaborates with other team members regarding the status of patients’ social and mental health needs.
    • Executes and monitors data collection and reporting requirements for all institutional and federal regulations as required through an electronic or manual system.
    • Participates in professional development opportunities and attends staff/team meetings as deemed necessary.
    • Documents in medical records per policy and standards. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in a timely manner.
    • Comply with all OSHA requirements and adheres to Universal Precautions at all times.
    • Maintains a courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude in dealing with patients, family members, co-workers, ensuring professionalism and confidentially at all times.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


Current certification (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants or registration (RMA) through American Medical Technologists Association. Current CPR certification required within 6 months of employment.


Two or more years of medical assistant experience or related training with equivalent of education and experience. Demonstrated experience working with patients and clinical staff.
