Intimate Health for Women, By Women

Just like every other part of the body, a woman’s most intimate area changes with age, but additional decline may be caused by other major events in a woman’s life such as vaginal childbirth, hormonal imbalances, menopause, hysterectomy or chemotherapy. These events affect the health and function of vaginal tissue causing vaginal laxity, discomfort, dryness or loss of sensation. diVa® Vaginal Laser Therapy rejuvenates the vaginal tissue to stimulate the production of collagen and new tissue to help thicken the vaginal walls and treat other issues caused by atrophy.

Common diVa FAQs

What are diVa's benefits?
  • Increased vaginal moisture without hormones, creams or suppositories
  • Decreased pain with intercourse
  • Increased vaginal tone and laxity which leads to heightened sexual sensation
  • Treats mild stress urinary incontinence
What makes diVa different?
  • diVa is a quick 3-5 minute procedure to fractionally resurface the full length of the vaginal canal
  • diVa uses both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths for customizable results and comfort
  • diVa is precise and utilizes a strengthened quartz dialator to ensure that all of the vagina is treated
Am I a good candidate for diVa?

Women that have had children or are experiencing menopause would be ideal candidates to improve the quality of their vaginal tissue. Please call us at 616.213.0253 for a consultation with Dr. Tabatha Barber.

How many treatments will I need?

For maximum efficacy, we recommend three diVa treatments 4-6 weeks apart. To maintain your results, we recommend a single touch-up treatment yearly.

What are the benefits of using PRP with diVa Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) helps to improve the thickening of the vaginal walls and to reverse volume loss in these walls as a result of aging. In combination with the diVa, we take advantage of the disrupted skin surface and we simply apply PRP directly over the surface of the treated area. The PRP is rapidly absorbed and exerts its effect deep into the skin through the micro-channels in the vagina that the laser has created.

PrivaMD|Physicians FAQs

Care Coordination
Transparency + Accountability.

That’s the PrivaMD way. Whether it be exercised in a Care Team Consult or by securing and managing patient portal data, PrivaMD is highly engaged and collaborative in coordinating their patients’ care.

With longer consultative visits, we will ensure a complete and accurate diagnosis. When there are differing opinions about your course of care, we will work in collaboration with you, and with health care providers to avoid circular discussions and diagnoses.

We will make sure that your entire care team listens to you and is aligned on next steps. And when a specialist is required, you will have a say; and PrivaMD has the responsibility to advocate and align your healthcare providers. PrivaMD wants you to be comfortable with the quality of care that you receive. We are transparent in all that we do.

Flexible + Personalized
How so?

Because our Physicians are not bound by volume-based visits, we have the ability to take the necessary time to get to the bottom of your patients’ health issues.

Technology-Enabled
Is My Information Safe?

We offer state-of-the-art HIPPA-compliant platforms that allow for texting and TeleHealth communication with patients—most of which are dropped right in the patient’s chart!

Even though our hearts are aching to get back to serving and providing 1:1 care, we know that it is in everyone’s best interest to continue abiding by the State of Michigan’s Stay at Home orders and limiting our visits to telehealth only right now.

At this time, it is our hope to be able to open the doors again for patient visits on May 4. We understand that this situation is fluid but we pray that with everyone abiding by the governor’s orders and staying at home, we will have “flattened the curve” enough to be able to support patients on site once again.
